Does the new set need to be broken in?

Yes. After assembling the combo, it is advisable to work the first 5-10 minutes without demanding the maximum cut and check the chain tension several times during that first day, since new chains tend to stretch more when they heat up. Apply generous oil to the chain during break-in to ensure proper lubrication.

How to extend the life of the set?

Keep the chain sharp and well tensioned, use the specific chain oil in sufficient quantity and clean the bar and sprocket of impurities after each use. Turn the sword periodically so that the wear is even on both sides.
